£6.35 – Children in the UK are feeling short changed, says Halifax., after the lender found kids are getting on average £6.35 in pocket money, down from £6.50 last year.
4.75 – Nationwide last week introduced a 4.75 times income limit cap on residential lending.
27% – The year-on-year increase in the number of first-time buyers after 146.000 bought their first home in the first half of 2014.
6.99% – Nationwide’s stress-test rate for all mortgage borrowers, announced last week.
£4.49bn – The amount paid by BSkyB to take over Rupert Murdoch’s pay TV companies in Germany and Italy, to create Sky Europe.
0.8% – Growth in the UK economy in Q2 2014, says the Office for national Statistics.
